The Little Mermaid Cake

My friend was having a beach party and asked me if I could do her a cake, so I decided to do her an Ariel cake. I used 2 lamington cake tins and 2 packets of butter cake mix for each of tin. I cooled the cake for around 3 hours to make it easier for me to ice.
I then stuck the 2 cakes together with icing sugar. I drew the picture onto tracing paper and put it onto the cake with some toohpicks. I then cut the out lining of the cake with a sharp knife.
Using a skewer I carefully drew the rest of picture onto the cake so it would make it a lot easier to ice it into different sections.
I used butter icing for the entire cake. I started of with the hair, then the face and body then her tail.
For the out lining, eyes and detailing I lightly dipped a skewer into black food dye and carefully did the details onto the cake.
Lastly I iced the cake board with blue icing for the sky and water.
