Teapot Cake

My Aunt sent me the idea for this teapot cake last year, she found it in a magazine. Thanks to her!
I used the ball cake pans. Bake 1 cake mix according to directions, cool and level.
I cut a small part off the round part of the ball so the cake would sit and not roll. I put that piece on the top of the other ball section for the tea pot lid.
I also took a very small bit off the top so the 'lid' would sit level as well.
I used buttercreme and added blue color and did not mix completely... was trying for the tye-dyed effect.. but I mixed it more than I should have.
I used a small round tool I found in my kitchen drawer to make the handle on the lid. I cut that out of a leftover cupcake.
I iced between everything. And generously iced the outside of the cake. I let it dry for a while and then went over it with a Viva! paper towel... so it's very smooth.
Then I added that same blue color to a little of the fondant and worked it to get the same effect.
I shaped the spout and handle and made the balls at the bottom and the smaller balls around the lid.
I also added 2 tea bags out of fondant. I used the blue buttercream to write TEA on them.
I attached the tea bags with some curling ribbon.
And attached the pre-made candy letters to the cake board.
Thanks again Nancy!!!!!!!
