Stacking Cakes

by KM

When making a three level cake, how do you keep the layers from sliding off? I made a red velvet cake with three layers, cream cheese icing between the layers and iced the complete cake in cream cheese icing. As I was traveling to deliver the cake, the bottom two layers started to move and the icing started to separate from the layers. What could I have done to keep them from separating?

how to avoid layers slipping
by: EMAN

Dear KM (Louisiana)
to avoid cake from slipping you should apply the frosting between layers and keep it in fridge to harden, in case your cake is very high, you need it to be iron strong, just insert wooden dowels in the cake before covering it with crump caught lyer of frosting, keep in in fridge for 1 hours, then the you can start covering it with the last layer of frosting. After you finish your job it is important to keep it in fridge for a couple of hours before transporting it.
hope this will help you.
