Smurf Cake

To make this Smurf cake, the cake was made from a cake mix in which part of it was crumbled and mixed with butter cream. It was then covered with butter cream and then covered with fondant.


I sculpted the other part to the shape desired and covered with butter cream, then covered it with fondant then, assembled it together to finish my project.

Then finally, the extra work was done for the flowers and the mushroom.

Editors note: This cake looks awesome. It would be great to have a little more of the description on how it was made. But in any event - wonderful job and thanks so much for sharing! It is also perfect timing with the new Smurf movie recently coming out, I know there are going to be a lot of kids wanting a Smurf cake for their birthday this year!

Dear my fried who requested for more information about smurf cake for her daughters birthday, you have to bake cake mix, crumb it white it is still hot, you need to prepare butter cream, mix it with the crumbed cake litte at atime to get it stick togather, make to parts of the crumb mix, one for the head of the smurf and the other one for the body, let them in fridge for a while to harden, coat them with butter cream and let them set for 10 minutes in the fridge, mean while prepare your fondant 2 part white and blue , the bigger part is for white, roll the fondant out to cover your shapes with it, make the opening for the body to be in the bottom of the body, and for the head too so it won't show when you stick them togather, they you have to make the hat of the smurf, stick it to the head, make the details of the head, eyes, nose, mouth, ears, and the hands, the legs the tail, attach them to the body.

This cake is amazing. As the editor mentioned, I think it will be a big hit because of the new Smurf movie. The colours are exactly right - I bet a lot of experimenting went on to get the perfect 'smurf-blue'!!! Well done!
