Scott is 40 Years Young

This was a cake for my son in law Scott. He turned 40 which is a hard age for some. He took it very well and really liked the cake. The cake is a yellow cake with blueberry filling. It has two ten inch rounds tarted and filled. It was frosted with buttercreme icing.

The spinner does actually spin. The pointer is glued to a stick. The stick is then inserted into a clear straw in the middle of the cake.

He has 4 boys from 14 to 19 and they had a ball figuring out what some of the Items on the cake where. It was fun listening to Scott explain what everything was. All in all it was a great party and the cake tasted great.

We all had fun ribbing Scott and he was a very good sport about it.

Very Clever!

What a clever idea for cake! I just love it. I have never seen a 40th (or any age - although, I do think it is great for a 40th) birthday cake like this. It is a much "nicer" idea than a typical over the hill cake! and I'm sure it brought back lots of fond memories. Great job and thanks for sharing this idea!
