Red, White and Blue 4th of July Birthday Cake
by Mildred Delgado
(Milledgeville, Georgia)
This 4th of July cake is a 12" x 12" cake. I used white buttercream on it. I used a # 18 tip to create the bottom and top shells. I cut out some curled red, white and blue ribbon, about three to four inches long, and placed it randomly on the bottom of the cake ensuring touching the shells so it will stay on.
I created an arrangement using a clear small red and blue bag. I tied them with curled ribbons. I bought a 4th of July decoration vine and I cut it and placed it between the "bags" arrangement where I believed it looked good.
Using a #3 tip, I put some red dots here and there. I used tip # 3 to do the writing on the cake. Enjoy it.
