Pretty in Pink Cake

1. I made two boxed cake mixes in a round pan (size of your choice).
2. Use a cake leveler to make the both the same height.
3. Use reg frosting of your choice between the layers (or what ever you want in between the layers.
4. Put a think coat of buttercream frosting or store bought frosting over the cake.
5. I rolled out while fondant and covered the entire cake and cut around the bottom.
5. Use a stencil (Any plastic type will do).
6. I dusted this with Pearl Dusty by Wilton (a little goes a long way!)
7. I also bought a bag of ready made gum paste at Wal-Mart and looked on line how to make the bow.
8. Cut two strips about 6-8 inches long and fold them in half making a "loop" put something round in the middle and let it dry so this can be the loop part of the bow.
9.Cut another piece of gumpaste about 4-5 inches long for the "tie" in the middle of the bow.
10. Place the seamed edges of the loop together and wrap the the 4-5 inche piece of gumpaste you just cut around them and seal with a little water at the back.
11. Use a pencil or something small and round to make the crease in the middle.
12. Let dry a least a day until it is hard but still be careful because the loops can slip out from the loop but that is okay because it will lay flat on the cake anyway.
12. Dust with pearl dust!
13. If you want the tails of the bow, just cut more gum paste and cut the ends to look like the end of a bow and place them under the bow you made on top of the cake (I left the tails off cause my daughter just liked the bow part).
If you want the tails to "cascade" down the side of the cake place them on the cake after you have stenciled it while the gumpaste is still pliable so when it hardens it will say where you put it.
Hope this helps and is not to confusing!!
