Not Tonight Honey... I have A Splitting Headache! Halloween

I used a round pan and used a pound( sturdy is what you want) cake for his face, and an egg shaped pan for the bulging eyes. His nose is another egg shaped cake cut in half horizontally.
I then used a muffin top pan to make one muffin top and cut it in half when completely cooled for his ears.
All of this makes for a 3-D cake. I tinted the frosting for his face a flesh color with food color paste.
I used cake gel for details such as the eyes, plus red piping gel for the fake blood. I used the grass tube for his hair and made that frosting black.
The tongue was made using a large round tip. I used my chopping knife for a hatchet.
I make several cakes and cookies on Halloween for my son-in-laws annual Halloween party for his employers. They always can't wait to see what I make every year. That makes all the work worth it and makes my heart smile! My motto is "Bake It And They Will Come"!

*Note...I use a crusting type frosting (one with no butter, just white shortening) and as it sets up I use a plain Viva paper towel to smooth the frosting out. Do all your smoothing before using the decorating gel because it does nor work on gel. Also don't use the paper towel on the hair.
