Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Cake
For my daughters 4th birthday we had a Mickey Mouse Club House party and I wanted to make her cake.
I read some of the other ideas and thought I would try to build the clubhouse out of fondant, but knew it would take a lot of dye to get black and red the right shade.
I decided to mold the clubhouse from Crayola Modeling Clay! I purchased the colors I needed and built the clubhouse a few days before the party and then just placed in on top of the cake.
To save time, and since I don't have a pan large enough, I ordered a 1/2 sheet cake from the store and asked them to just ice it and spray it green with a red border. I used one side of the Wilton ball mold for the base and styrofoam for the head, ears, foot and hand.
I rolled out the modeling clay with the rolling pin and used it like fondant. Because I was using modeling clay my daughter was able to help, and now that the party is over we have a non-perishable Mickey Mouse Club house for in the play room!
