Marvin the Martian Cake

I surprised my husband Chris with this Marvin the Martian cake for his 35th birthday! My husband has always been a fan of this timeless Looney Tunes character and I just knew I had to bring it to life when I came across this 1998 Wilton Cake pan on Amazon.

The great thing about Wilton Cake pans is that they come with instructions, so even for an amatuer like myself you can make a beautiful piece of art you will not want to cut into.

I went to the local Michael's arts and craft store and purchased the items listed on the cake pan's decorations.

After piping away for an hour or two the end result was very satisfying! Marvin has on his Roman soldier's uniform, with old-fashioned basketball shoes. My husband was truly pleased and surprised at how life like the character looked! Too bad he wasn't accompanied by his dog "K-9".

On to my next cake mission :)

Crystal, I loved your cake and know the feeling of not wanting to cut into it. I made a bugs bunny cake for an Easter picnic one year, years ago and the dessert table was full of desserts, no one wanted to cut into bugs bunny. Keep up the good work girl. Nancy of CA
