mahogany cake

The ingredients for this mahogany cake are as follows:
150 gm butter
2 eggs
1 1/3 cup maida flour
1 tsp vanilla essence
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup hot water
2 tsp coffee powder
2 tbsp cocoa powder
Sift maida flour with salt and baking soda 3 or 4 times. Cream butter and sugar until soft and creamy. Add eggs one by one and beat well. Add essence. Mix cocoa powder and coffee powder in hot water. Fold this alternately with maida flour to the cake mix. Bake at 180 degrees for 30 minutes or until done. It is a family favorite.
