This Little Mermaid cake was made especially for a 5 years old girl. She loves Little Mermard and wanted the theme for her home party. I have baked 3 cakes one 9" round, one using a bowl pan, and one was a small rectangle cake.
I stacked the bowl cake on top of the 9" round cake. I trimmed the small rectangle cake to the shape of the mermaid leg as I prefer she has a 3D tail.
Then I used rose tip 103 to pump the scale of the tail. This doll is an ordinary doll. I removed the legs. I put 2 long sticks tape with the doll so it will stay firm during delivery. Hope you all like it.
Creativity - That is how I do it. by: Lena, Kuching Malaysia
Normally is the request of my customer, who prefer certain character. Then I will work on creating the design. A lot of factors will affect the design, e.g their budget, the size of cake, for what occasion, so on. As I am still new in cake decor, so I will do a scatch on a paper, including the design, the colour, the tips use, and other details a few days in advance. I hope this will give you some idea of how I do it.
