LaRissa's Volcano Cake
by Kelly Little
(Van Buren, Arkansas, USA)
I ended up using 3 cake mixes to make this volcano cake. And I used a 9" x 13" oval pan and the wonder mold pan as well.
After baking according to directions, let cool completely.
1st I placed the oval cake on my board. Then iced a bit to secure the 'volcano' on the oval cake.
I used buttercream icing. For the volcano and ground I used a bit of brown and a bit of black color and didn't mix completely.
I also used a grass tip for the green and added a little blue pond.
The rock, dinosaurs and little tree are toys I picked up at Walmart.
Tomorrow I will add dry ice and sparkler candles for the steam and fire affect.
In the center of the volcano is a small medicine cup. That's what I'm going to put the dry ice in.
