Hello Kitty Birthday Cake
To make this Hello Kitty birthday cake, I made a white cake, using the Betty Crocker cake mix, and I used the Wilton recipe for the buttercream icing.
I baked one cake in a 10" round pan and I baked the other cake in a 8" round pan. I put some cake release on the pans before I put in my batter so the cakes wouldn't stick.
I let the cakes cool for an hour and then I put the 8" round cake on top of the 10" round cake. After cakes cooled, I outlined the Hello Kitty with a tooth pick on top cake and then I used tip #16 to pipe in the Hello Kitty and I used tip #3 to pipe on the whiskers and eyes.
I also had to put a little bit of corn starch on my finger and pat down on the eyes a little bit until they took shape. I used jelly beans for the bow and for the nose.
I used tip #12 to pipe in all the dots on the side of the cake. This cake took me about 3 hours to do, It was pretty simple and everyone loved it!
