How to Make a First Communion Cake
Easy directions for making this First Communion Cake:Bake a sheet cake the size that you need. Ice the sheet cake with white icing using a cake spatula and making sure the surface is smooth.
Let it set about 15-20 minutes.
With an icing filled bag and round tip, size #5, do the lacework on the sides of the cake and the top edge up to your markings on the top of the cake.
Now change your tip to a star tip, size #18 and make a
shell border around the inside edge and the outside edge of the top of
the cake.

Make a shell border around the bottom edge of the sides.
Make a yellow gold color icing and using star tip, size #18, make a chalice on the left end of the center rectangle.
With white icing and the same size star tip, make the host at the top of the chalice.
Use your yellow gold icing and round tip, size #5 and make short lines going out around the host.
Write your First Holy Communion message on the right hand side of the rectangle.
Take yellow edible glitter and sprinkle it over the rays and around the bottom of the chalice.
Now sprinkle white edible glitter over the host.
With white icing and a large rose tip, make roses and place them around the rectangle.
Make a few half roses also.
Make a light green colored icing and use leaf tip, #352 and place leaves around the roses.
