Easter Bunnies Cake
by Kerri
(USA)
I made this for an Easter party for a small gathering of people. It is an eight inch cake that is two and a half inches in height.
I was using it to practice my square corners and covering square cakes with fondant; and think it worked out alright. It is a chocolate cake with chocolate icing. The outside is a layer of yellow tinted fondant.
The grass was vanilla icing and piped on with the grass piping tip. Each of the bunnies is made from fondant and given their own unique personality. They are “running” around the side of the cake. I made fondant carrots for decoration on each corner of the cake, and the eggs used were the Cadbury chocolate eggs.
My favorite part of this cake is the bunny with his face down in the grass, and all you can see is his rear end sticking up! I tried to make it fun for everyone to enjoy. :)
