Handcuffs Cake

Handcuffs Cake

I found the pan for this at the Goodwill store. It's smaller than a normal pan.

I split 1 cake mix and made 2 in this pan with a little left over. With the extra I went ahead and put it in the same pan and used it for the bottom of the cuffs.
I just cut it to fit.

Ok, I used one strawberry cake mix, baked according to directions. Let cool on wire rack completely. Then transfer to cake board.

I cut extra piece in 1/4 ths and then trimmed a little more to the size I wanted, and straightened edges.

I used buttercream in pink and purple, her favorite colors.

I used the grass tip to cover cuffs, but I did ice them first.
Then I used a #12 round tip to make the chain. I practiced on wax paper first!

I used a small round tip for the words and numbers. Notice that my best friend is now 42, lol !
