Covering Cakes With Fondant

by Vicky
(UK)

Hi there, I'm really struggling with covering cakes with fondant to make them look professional at the bottom edge.. (I put ribbon around the bottom to hide any imperfections!) Can you give me any tips around getting rid of the folds which inevitably come with covering the cake? Thanks!!

If you cut it a couple of inches bigger, then you can cut it with a sharp knife so it cuts much easier. We cut it away from the cake, then work it around and smooth with a fondant smoother.
