Birthday Pillow Cake
This pillow cake was fun to bake and decorate. I used two 8 inch square pans and chocolate cake mix and added about 3/4 cup of chocolate chips to the batter. I froze the cakes to later sculpt them. I will not freeze them next time because it was hard to cut without crumbling.
I used a serrated knife and after the fact. My son told me to use an electric knife next time. (great idea). I filled the center with buttercream and buttercreamed the cake until set. I rolled out my hot pink fondant and covered.
I made my fringe and cording with the fondant and attached with vodka. I scored the top to look quilted and made little buttons to decorate with.
I bought the tiara at Walmart for a dollar in the party goods. This is for my daughter in law's birthday but can be made for children's cakes also.. Nancy of Ca
